Started on one shelf. Still run the same way.
MaxiDisc began as a personal collection that kept outgrowing its shelf space — a handful of favorite films picked up from wherever they could be found, kept for the way they looked and felt as much as the stories inside them.
That instinct never went away. What started as one person's shelf has grown into a store, but the standard is unchanged: every title is chosen the way a collector chooses it, not the way a warehouse fills a catalog.
WHY PHYSICAL MEDIA
Streaming rents. A shelf remembers.
A license can expire. A recommendation algorithm can bury a favorite film under a hundred others. A disc on your shelf can't be removed from a catalog — it's simply yours, in the exact cut and quality you chose, whenever you want it.
There's also the object itself: cover art, sleeve notes, special features that never made it online. For collectors, that's not nostalgia — it's part of what makes a film worth owning in the first place.

MaxiDisc brings together movies across action, drama, horror, sci-fi, comedy, and the classics that started it all — spanning decades, but never diluted. We'd rather carry fewer titles we can stand behind than a catalog too large to mean anything.
New arrivals are added the same way the original shelf grew: one considered title at a time.
